Note: Windows 10/11 Defender SmartScreen may warn when starting a brand new SimplexNumerica version. This happens because the file is new and has not yet built SmartScreen reputation. - but the application is digitally signed and safe to run (For more information, please see explanation below*).

When launching a new version of SimplexNumerica for the first time, Windows Defender SmartScreen may display a warning such as “Windows protected your PC” or “This app is from an unknown publisher”. This does not indicate a security problem.

SmartScreen does not evaluate software based on its name or popularity, but solely on the reputation of the specific file. Each new release of SimplexNumerica has a new file hash and therefore starts with no established SmartScreen reputation.

Reputation builds automatically over time as more users download and run the new version without issues. So, SimplexNumerica is fully digitally signed, authentic, and safe to use.  If the warning appears, you can start the application via “More info” → “Run anyway”.

Windows Defender SmartScreen kann beim ersten Start einer neuen SimplexNumerica‑Version eine Warnung anzeigen, weil die Datei noch keine etablierte SmartScreen‑Reputation besitzt. Diese Reputation wird nicht anhand des Namens der Software bewertet, sondern ausschließlich durch: die digitale Signatur der Datei, die Häufigkeit, mit der genau diese Version heruntergeladen und ausgeführt wurde, und das Verhalten anderer Nutzer (keine Malware‑Meldungen, keine Blockierungen).

Da SimplexNumerica regelmäßig aktualisiert wird, besitzt jede neue Version zunächst einen neuen Hash und muss ihre Reputation erneut aufbauen. Dies ist ein normales Verhalten von SmartScreen und kein Hinweis auf ein Sicherheitsproblem.

SimplexNumerica ist vollständig signiert, unverändert und sicher. Falls die Meldung erscheint, kann das Programm über „Weitere Informationen“ → „Trotzdem ausführen“ gestartet werden.
