From Data Professional to SimplexNumerica!

The program has been available since 1988, since then it has constantly continued to develop. In the years 1988 to 1993 SimplexNumerica was still called DATA Professional and it was available only for Atari computers. SimplexNumerica 5.0, which was particularly developed for PC computers under Microsoft Windows 3.1, was adapted later for Windows 95. SimplexNumerica is a complete new development. It is based on version 5.0 and in relation to DATA 4.0 (for Atari), which has nearly the double function range in comparison. In SimplexNumerica 5.0 is an extensive integrated 3D Module, which offers genuine 3D Graphics. Arbitrary rotations in the area around three axis are possible as well as numerous other tasks, such as coloured shades and different perspectives.

In addition was added newer 2D Diagrams, e.g. the Smith diagram for electro-technology, the Tri plot for chemists and biologist, the Contour plot for the application of contours. The Contour plot can be also be combined on or under a net diagram and be rotated under that area. The other coordinate systems were again refined. The mathematical buffer linkages were accommodated in a more user-friendly dialog box. Simple things, for example, a cumulating (accumulative) chart from measured data, are now possible. The bar-chart diagrams were very extensively extended. Different histograms (with numeric computation), Business diagram (e.g. staff diagrams), genuine 3D Bar charts, 2D/3D Combinations, etc. were added. The 3D part offers, of course, a further large range of diagrams (e.g. volume diagram, net diagram, etc.).

The GEM based desktop of Data 4.0 already offered a very comfortable design. The Windows version has Toolbars and Tools windows with Icons for function control. The Icons in the Toolbar calls sub-groups in the Tools window (which is always above and can be freely moved) in the form of larger Icons. These illustrate the functions available graphically, so you do not need to puzzle over what to do next for long time. SimplexNumerica is a MDI application (similar to the old Windows 3.1 Program Manager), which keeps several windows ready for treatment. The Pull down menu changes with the active window.

The table editor has different menus than the report window. The report window is a normal text editor, in whom function results and references are not only represented, but you can edit, load and store also arbitrary ASCII texts.

A new version from SimplexNumerica is now available.
